Spring Updates
Posted over 5 years ago by Jade Vergara
Good morning GAPNA members,
I hope more than ever this finds you, your patients and loved ones safe and healthy. A few announcements and opportunities to connect from MidTN GAPNA:
Meeting: Our spring quarterly meeting has been postponed. I hope by the end of May/early June we are able to coordinate a face to face meeting, however in the interim I would like to offer a zoom meeting as an opportunity to connect, share resources, and offer support as we continue providing care to the elderly in the current climate. Our April zoom meeting will be Thursday, April 16 at 7:30pm CST. See the zoom invitation below.
Volunteering: I have reached out to the GNRC who has a need for volunteers to write uplifting letters for elderly residents in the Gallatin area. This is a great activity to get your children or friends involved in, as well.

If you are interested, please email me directly at jadevergaranp@gmail.com with the number of letters you would be willing to write by this Friday, April 10 at 8am so that I can make arrangements, as the GNRC would like the letters received no later than April 22.
Instructions from the GNRC:
We are looking to send encouraging and uplifting letters. You are welcome to include some art, if that is something you like to do.
Here are some basic recommendations:
- Be sure your letter can fit in a standard 4 1/8" by 9 1/2" mailing envelope
- Write in large print
- If using color paper makes sure wording can read clearly
- Write legibly
Once you tell me how many letters you are wanting to write, I will respond with the senior's names and directions on sending the letters. We will collect them and then send them directly to the seniors to protect their privacy.
GAPNA Exchange: As a reminder, if you are an active member, there are incredible resources being shared on the GAPNA exchange open forum. Personally, I have utilized many of the shared resources and appreciated a sense of community amid a rapidly changing healthcare climate.
Thank you, sincerely, to each of you for what you do.
Be safe and be well,
Jade Vergara
MidTN GAPNA President
